Plague Inc. Discussion

For anyone who hasn't heard of it: Plague Inc. is an iOS/Android strategy game of great popularity. The premise of the game is to create and evolve a pathogen of many types and your goal is the destroy humanity. It uses a hyper-realistic epidemic model and a complex set of variables to make the world more in-depth. With over 20 million downloads and over 200 million games played, its worth the buy.

Here are the downloads for anyone who is interested:

Recently, the creator of the game released an early access PC version on Steam, though with the 15 dosh price tag as opposed to the mobile $0.99, I would not recommend buying it until all the content found in the mobile version is completely ported over. The additional features in the Steam version will include: cooperative and competitive multiplayer, Steam Workshop support for custom scenarios, Dynamic 3D models for your pathogen (partially implemented as of currently), and more.

No, it is not a port. It is a completely remade version of the game, and I agree with it's current price. It is a bit odd, but the unlockables in the iOS version are open by default when you buy the Steam version, which otherwise would be near $5-$7.50 in price. The current version of the Steam copy is in early-alpha, so this should be the best time to buy it unless it goes on sale. I find that buying a game in it's early stages helps build anticipation and make the new features all-the-sweeter. When the new features are added, the Steam version should be well worth $15.

To be honest. The current price seems very high at this point in time for me to reasonably afford. Right now, it just seems like a shinier version of the far cheaper game with a few adjustments here and there. I'll change my mind when I see some more new content that further differentiates it from the mobile app timewaster.

Trex already said that the fact that IAPs are included for free in the PC version would pretty much increase the price to around what it is on Steam.

WHY HAS NO ONE ON THE INTERNET REALIZED IT YET!!!?
They have. But NDemic took Pandemic, Improved it, then made it mobile. Then they took that, improved it some more, then put it on steam.

The creator of Plague has credited Pandemic.
