1. How will this affect SCP-106 and SCP-096, wouldn't they just teleport next to the player when they enter the forest?

2. Using noclip trough the walls and door would be rather impossible due to the player being teleported there (or it's an event?)
Well uh...

1. 106 is smart and clever, he might wait for you to exit the forest and come out from the other side, or even run into the forest when you enter at the last second before the door closes. And 096. He'll probably go in at the last second (Much like 106) or see you exit and burst through the door or even the window.

2. Probably if you noclip through the 860 door you'll end up in the forest, but if you noclip pass the door, you might end up fine.

106 could simply be made unable to follow the player there.

As for 096, maybe it wouldn't enter the forest, but after the player leaves, 096 could easily break the door where 860 was inserted and keep chasing the player.

Well, you're not really supposed to use noclip in the first place, so this shouldn't be a problem.

As much as i agree on number 2. noclip is barley used, but as a player of SCP i usually use noclip because i don't want to bump into 096. As for him breaking the door where 860 was placed in, do you mean the wooden door where 860-1 IS at or the containment door for the chamber of 860?

1. Neither of them should be able to enter the forest.

2. Disabling the portal with noclip on is easy to do.

And by the way, I found the old 860 implementation I made before, and made this:

The DrawPortal doesn't look like a simple sprite anymore :) I also applied the texture to the room itself for testing purposes, but that shouldn't be in the final version.

It's hard to tell what's actually happening in the screenshot. Basically, the forest is rendering as if the player was already in it, and then the render is used as an overlay. The render moves around with the player, making the effect almost seamless.

Can't help but notice that was introduced in the video by Regalis.

Currently, Regalis is using something similar. The forest is being rendered, and then it's scaled to fit a sprite. This new implementation renders it with a special blend mode so it doesn't look pixellated when you move closer to the portal.

But what do we do about the player blinking automatically when entering the forest? That kinda spoils it and or just ruins the mood somehow.

Surley it is supposed to be like that due to teleportation but why not a little fog or something in your eyes like if you get pushed into it?
