This has probably been suggested before but... Flashlights in 1.0 perhaps?
I was thinking of the batteries that are already in the game being used to keep the flashlight powered, and that it can only be found in the maintenance tunnels...? Or the electrical center...?
And probably some rooms have the lights all off, so you would need the flashlight to see...?
This is gonna get a lot of negative feedback.

#2This has already been suggested like you said. Some people were interested but most of the people said no.
Re: Flashlights? (Suggestion)
#3I think this was actually discussed before. Yeah, it was; Flashlights unfortunately aren't possible in Blitz 3d as far as I know.

#5I don't think blitz3d even supports the usage of dynamic shadows/lighting.
Oh god, how old is the engine I'm modelling for again?..

#6It's possible to achieve a simple sprite effect that illuminates the room.Mirocaine wrote:I don't think blitz3d even supports the usage of dynamic shadows/lighting.

#8The shadows don't always have to be dynamic.
I tried the blitz3d demo today, and I know nothing about coding, but if a point light were attached to the player, that might be a way to make flashlight lighting.

Re: Flashlights? (Suggestion)
#9Thought about that too at first but now I don't think it's necessary. Game looks better as it is; although yeah I do wish it was less dark in 0.9.3 than in the past versions, because it's just too dark when using the gas mask or the hazmat suit in the maintenance tunnels. Practically can't see anything. Yeah I know it's not really required but I just tried it and it's still annoying..

#10You can set the brightness via console commands, and juanjpro has a brightness slider mod somewhere. 1.0 will have it in the vanilla game.
